Very disappointed

I too am disappointed so far. I had no problem setting it up with Spotify, but it doesn’t give me any utility I didn’t already have on my iPhone. I can search with open AI just as effectively as with rabbit. I had hoped that this device would be able to integrate with my home automation apps, and did not understand how limited it was in terms of interaction with current applications . Having said the above, I remain hopeful that overtime The device may become more and more useful as the software is expanded. If not, honestly, it’s a kind of a Worthless paperweight

The device was cool for about an hour and I already rarely touch it after a few days. Since I am in Canada, this thing does basically nothing except for answer questions search images on the web and take pictures.

Can’t order DoorDash, it can’t get an Uber It’s for some reason unavailable, even though I can go on my phone and order an Uber or DoorDash.

We were told there would be no subscription fees however, if you want to generate images, you have to pay mid journey $10 a month minimum. Luckily, I already had a Spotify premium account so I can at least use it for music but for that it’s not even great because it can’t access your playlist. It can’t add songs to your playlist. It can’t create tracklists or find things that you may like based on your other music that’s in your library/playlists.

There is an insane amount of things that need to be added and modified on this device to make it even close to useful

I’m in the USA and Uber eats does not work. It defaults to DoorDash only.

I can agree, that the rabbit r1 does not have the functions and features, we would like to have, especially do automatical actions on websites, apps etc…

But I think, at the moment we are staying at the beginning of steps to get a powerful ai tool/gadget in camparison with other gadgets.

So I am looking forward to the second half of this year for the ‘teach-mode’ feature, which allowing us to create much more use-cases than now.

In the keynote I have found this planned features for the rabbit r1. The next weeks will be very interesting.

Agreed, the video that got me to order it was the LAM model but that isnt working just yet. They made it seem.like you could teach it to do things for you like chat bots but im seeing now it cant. Gemini advanced can do everything better than the interface and I will just have to program my own chatbots unfortunately.

Me too. I’d be a bit more forgiving if there was help available but all of my messages to the help line have been unanswered. (I can’t imagine that anyone on eBay will offer more than a few pounds for it!!)

It’s a shame that YouTube reviews have made it so fashionable to trash new devices when they come out. This is a brand new category. The company was clear about the roadmap for how functionality of the device was going to be built up. It only costs $199 and there’s no subscription.

I, personally, find the device to be delightful. The hardware is excellent. They’re rolling out regular updates and have been very communicative and listening to what users say. I just feel bad they have to wade through so much negativity. Lighten up, people. If you don’t like it. Sell it. There are plenty of people who would be happy to have one.

They sold Illusions … Like already said in this Thread, this device is far away from being just a bit useful… there is actually everything missing and nothing possible - except some features that are such common and well integrated in the market that we can not count them! Even as a Toy it fails.
There is just a litte setting menu - no option to configure or personalize the device (for example scrolling speed) just simple and normal things.
And further I don’t want to have messages like “not possible in your region”. This device should do what I want it to do. So if I want to Order something (no matter where) , it should ask me to show where and how to do it and after that be able to do it by itself after getting my voice command.
If there are some special Sites or Services that work together (explicit and per definition) with rabbit it is ok to mention them. But it’s ok to be set in front of a small limited list with Spotify or Uber etc …
The Users want a efficient management tool - no matter if for business or private. Of course, and beside, it should also be able to play music, take pictures … but that’s just nice gadgets.
Everybody got his smartphone that can do those things like perfectly - even concerning AI.
Many Promises have been made - a Product with impressing features has been showed … already working features. But it seem to be just a Show to make people buy it.
And if they are working on the good stuff, they should at least add a kind of option to activate Beta access - so we can already use the features and they can learn faster how to optimize.

I agree. We were all grossly mislead as to what we would be getting at launch. I have yet to find it useful in my business nor personal life.

Palm Pilot and Tesla had similar issues, so cheap to be a noob in this developing technology. Don’t despair so quickly, evolving space and you are in it

Probably it’s that things have changed a lot since you ordered it, same as me. Chatgpt in no time has gone from gpt3. 5 to gpt4o. I have received my rabbit only a few days ago and I am still practising. Some features like Doordash delivery doesn’t work here but it doesn’t worry me. I am liking it and looking forward to future updates.

  • Struggling with Translation mode: English/Samoan
  • R1 rarely able to read cursive script and refuses to translate printed foreign text
  • Today I cannot provide a smooth R1 demo to anyone respectable
  • Sometimes R1 tells me it cannot see although the camera is active
  • R1 consistently makes a big mistake thinking I want to play music on Spotify when I specifically ask for a.) generating music on suno, or b.) translating between Samoan and English
  • We need video capture
  • We need a timer!

Welcome to the community. I agree. This thing is so super new. People also forget how affordable this item is. And within the first week of receiving mine, feedback I provided was eventually implemented. I think Rabbits listening and things are gonna get better and better. Cheers to you

I wish there was a way to return mine, but that possibility is non existent. Could have used my money better…So very disappointed.

I have to agree with you 100%. I was expecting at least some better capabilities than my Alexa or Google screens at home…Which are actually able to take actions and control many things around my house…. I am a huge user of ChatGPT at work and it is a huge boost of productivity. I was hoping the Rabbit was going to help me increase my productivity at home, but I’m highly disappointed by the current capabilities.

I feel like we are at ground Zero with this, it can only get better for such a small investment financial, please?

If you can’t explain to a non-trch savvy individual what it does and why that’s adding value - it has no value.

My wife asked me what it does. All I could say is “nothing right now, but maybe one day”.

She pointed out I spent $199 on a bit of plastic which does nothing…. And she’s right. Mines back in the case and in the box of tech junk I own. Maybe it’ll be useful one day, but I doubt it
