Alright y'all, let's get real. What's your least favorite part/feature of r1?

For me it has to be that we can’t get emails from r1 about everything, that it’s locked down to “take this existing spreadsheet and change it”, it seems like a weirdly specific thing to lock it down to.

What about you guys?

Running Out of Ideas for Rabbit R1 Songs

I’m running out of ideas for Rabbit R1 songs, so something more very cool needs to happen.

Looking Forward to June

I will probably find out more once I have my R1 in my hands sometime in June.

I’d have to say my least favorite thing is the lack of recall, which I know is coming and is hard to accomplish. That level of persistent memory is going to be a MASSIVE update for this device. I want to be able to pick back up on something I talked about 3 days ago and continue that conversation. Stoked for that update.

Calendar/email/Google Home integrations are sorely missed. But if webhooks are around the corner, those will likely solve for it.

You won’t have to wait too long for this, and we’ll be super eager to hear your feedback!

Current least favorite part, when using a Bluetooth keyboard in terminal mode, I need to push the PTT button after every entry to start typing again. Really inconvenient when I’m trying to switch from my work station to the r1 quickly.

Second least favorite, the device sleeps when plugged in, again it’s primarily a terminal mode issue, as I just want it to be on standby for quick questions next to my work station. When I’m using it at home for music next to my PC I want to have it as a mini player/music remote, but it falls asleep and adds a layer of friction.

My least favorite thing has to be magic pics not being viewable on device

I’m using USB c keyboard so maybe different but I can wake the r1 by pressing the lock key once or twice, though if it’s been asleep for a few mins, don’t know exactly how long, then it does the portrait in landscape thing, you know? Where you have to turn up then sideways again for terminal to come back

I would love to make my custom things with my prompts and convert them into custom actions e.g. with Make.com
LAMatHome is a good example of such approach.
But what I am missing is … that you will share in Journal as well original audio from the device before it’s transcribed and classified into type of action.
Maybe you would be able to establish some kind of webhook calling with detailed inputs for all or some type of prompts - then our “nerd” community will show innovative use-cases, much quicker widening popularity of rabbit r1 than your own R&D capacity …

Yeah. It’s particularly annoying with image generation. I make some pictures with midjourney, wait quite a bit for a response, view the images once, and then they disappear forever.

I can go see the pictures on Discord, but I want to be able to revisit them on the R1. Similarly, I want to be able to modify the images with additional prompts.

My biggest annoyance is the lack of custom app support. For the R1 to be useful, I need to be able to add new actions backed by new apps. That’s the point of the Large Action Model, right?

Because the R1 is so much less useful than a smart phone, it’s a good device to give to a child. It kinda feels like a reimagined iPod Touch.

It would be great to add specific capabilities to the device that I want the kids to have access to, like play music from Roon or look things up on Britanica kids.

I haven’t really used it enough to be annoyed by anything. It will stay unused until it gets at least as useful as Siri for basic time and task management, and that’s not saying much.

My least part so far is that up until Apple Music was added as a connection my r1 wasn’t useful for anything other than searches. I do use Apple Music but only very rarely so it’s not really worth it for me to get that set up. Now when YTM is added my r1 will get a lot more action from me.

Oh I completely forgot about the landscape mode not auto rotating. This is another small point of friction that would make the experience so much better if it was ironed out!

On bluetooth, you can wake the device up from sleep but never start typing in terminal without pressing PTT.

Hmm, weird, I can type right away, when it opens in landscape lol

For me right now is the inability of vision to solve handwritten equations. It confuses x with times and it does not understand powers (like x squared). That would be great for it to do. Funny thing is it used to do this early on…there are videos online of it doing this.

Make it more of a touch base device

My biggest annoyance is having to scroll back to the top to exit out of settings. Can’t we just shake and make settings go away just like it came in?

Yes, that works properly after the last update
