rabbitOS release notes

Well, I didn’t mean it quite literally, I guess I what I ment to say was this was my favorite update that addressed one of my biggest complaints that i squeaked quite loudly about awhile back, and I’m happy it finally got greased. LOL

Oh no…! @Cyclops That’s really sad for me, because I thought it was meant seriously. Anyway, I think it’s one of the most important updates that r1 has received now, because for me nothing can take priority over good usability that isn’t annoying or confusing. Well, that’s perhaps not entirely true, I have to put it into perspective, I admit that security and data protection should perhaps be on the same level and everything else is really great and will definitely, definitely, make r1 a device that will change the world and that everyone will want to have at some point, but that can only be secondary, because what good is a really great looking device that can do pretty much everything if you can’t use it and if it wasn’t safe to use or if you always had to bear in mind that you shouldn’t trust this device. Therefore, this list of priorities is not ill-considered and is highly advisable if you want to do everything right. In any case, I am very happy about this update and, as I have already written, I think that Rabbit is on the right way with it.

For the newer users to catch up with us, we may need to update the user manual too because it is still saying “shake the device at any time to view settings.”

Yep, that’s been noted - we will get it updated!

Hi @Swinks ,
Hi @KarimGouda04 ,

yesterday and today I have made a test for the battery usage of our rabbits r1.

Maybe this could help.

How do i request the most recent release notes via the rabbit R1 ? Just saying: “Release Notes” or even saying: “Show Release notes for September 17th 2024 for the Rabbit R1” does not seem to do the trick. Thanks in advance

You can catch up on the rabbit community website; Rabbit R1 device shows the release notes only when the OTA update is ready to be downloaded, clicking on the button while it’s downloading.

Ah thank you, that would have been nice if that worked  especially given that it’s Rabbit R1 releated - it would make sense for it to know its own release notes. But noted  thanks!

Consider the fact that R1 doesn’t even tell you it’s own battery level… particularly frustrating for me that I am blind.

Jupp thanks a lot thats the one i already use  :+1: .

@KarimGouda04 uff yes ok that is pretty limiting, if you can’t know when to charge it. Feel like those system information should be a pretty basic thing to communicate by the Rabbit R1 to it’s user (same direction as preferences such as celsius instead of fahrenheit etc).

This is exactly why I think that usability for everyone should be the most important thing for any product that seriously wants to be a really good product. I think Rabbit is really on the right track, even if there is still a lot to do, so I’ll just say what I always say. We just have to be patient and wait and see what other innovations Rabbit will surprise us with. But I also think that we can all be grateful for what r1 can do so far and above all for the fact that Rabbit, although not always 1:1, still incorporates many good ideas and criticisms from the community into its development.
