rabbitOS 2 IS HERE!

YouTube Launch Video!

:rotating_light: rabbitOS 2 is HERE :musicrabbit:

Alright folks… this is it. The big one. The day we’ve all been waiting for.
We can finally say it: rabbitOS 2 is LIVE and rolling out to your r1 right now.

This is not just a software update. It is a total reinvention of the OS. We took everything we learned from launch, all the feedback you gave us, and built something completely new. rabbitOS 2 feels like picking up your r1 for the first time all over again.

Here’s what you’re about to discover:

:sparkles: The entire interface has been reborn
The whole OS has been redesigned into a colorful, touch friendly card system. It feels playful, fast, and alive. Many of the main features live inside this new design: alarms, reminders, r-cade, magic gallery, and more. And the primary query functionality of r1 now has a brand new multi modal query screen where you can use voice, text, and images together in the same query. You can even mute the audio, if you just want to read the text response. No clunky switching. No limits. Just flow.

:microphone2: Meeting Assistant is finally what we always dreamed it would be
Recordings now cache locally so even if your connection drops mid meeting, you are safe. Summaries are sharper than ever and available on device. And now you can replay the audio directly on your r1, too!

:art: Creations changes the game
This is huge. Creations makes r1 the first device in the world that can build its own software with AI. Simply start a real time conversation with creations on r1 - “I want a game,” “I need a tool,” “Can you make me something that…” Minutes later it shows up on your r1, ready to use. It is powered by rabbit intern, so you can use intern tasks to build your own creations on r1. but Check out the creations gallery on our website, and the public tab in creations on r1 for a suite of new things made by our team and alpha testers that you can install on your r1 for free.
We also launched a brand new r1-creations channel on Discord so you can share what you have built. You’ll find QR codes and social links to share your creations in rabbithole.

:zap: Quick Settings that just make life easier
Swipe down from the top and you will get brightness, volume, and instant shortcuts for text and image queries.

:robot: rabbit intern… now in your pocket, with follow ups
intern is no longer something you need to fire up on a laptop. It is right there on your r1. Need to draft a doc, spin up a slide deck, or build a website while you are out and about? Just call up intern and by the time you are home, the work is waiting for you. In addition, image generation is now supported on intern.
we’ve also added follow ups on rabbithole web - so if your project isn’t quite right, you can ask intern to iterate on it and make changes. and since creations is powered by intern, you can follow up on creations via rabbithole to modify them, too, with your changes instantly available on device after publishing the follow up!

:globe_with_meridians: rabbithole updates
We have been upgrading rabbithole too. From settings, you can now bulk download your magic camera photos. Full transcriptions of conversations made with our translator now appear in rabbithole too.
:point_right: Check your rabbithole after your next translation and see the full transcript waiting for you.

We are so thankful for all of you who have been on this journey with us so far. rabbitOS 2 exists because of you, your feedback, your thoughts, your ideas. We still have so much more we want to do, but make no mistake: this is not just an evolution. We tore everything down to make the r1 everything we all wanted it to be. And we hope you love it as much as we do.

Enjoy it. Share it. Push it to its limits.
Let’s take this to the next level together. :rocket::rabbit2:

Awesome Job. Thanks für the update. I
In the first few minutes there are already many Improvements.

One thing though:
Im an avid user of the magic cam to create custom pictures. best feature of the rabbit for me.

But with 2.0 the custom pictures dont show op in the magic gallery on the rabbit.
They are in the journal so they still get created but are somehow missing on the rabbit.

Also the process of holding the button to take a picture and prompting via voice now is kind of different.
When i hold the button to talk the preview gets really really small. like 1 square centimeter.
After taking the picture sometimes the assistant opens, sometimes the gallery sometimes only the audio gives feedback that something will be created.

Im sure you are aware that there is optimisation potential and just wanted to point out that creating custom magic pictures should get some love on 2.0.
It still works but:
-The pictures should be in the gallery on the r1
-the preview shouldnt shrink
-the feedback after a custom picture is in the works should be consistent
-after taking a custom picture i would like to remain in the camera

Thats all so far.
Again thanks for the updates and the hard work.
Also special thanks for the bulk download option! Great addition

It is with regret that we note that the latest update of the operating system has introduced significant difficulties for visually impaired users. Compatibility with screen readers, essential tools for accessibility, appears to have been compromised. As a result, the experience of browsing and using the software is significantly limited and frustrating for this specific user. We look forward to timely action by developers to restore full functionality and ensure digital inclusion.

@simon

Is creations free or is that a part of intern?

Thx! You rabbits are the best, honestly, I’m super happy with this OS2 Update 4 my r1! :otarabbit:

And as a thank you, I also made something for you: Rabbit r1 OS2 Update – DIE PERSÖNLICHE MEINUNG @rabbit @jesse @simon

I also made a video for the German-speaking community because I notice more and more often in everyday life with my r1 that the people around me have a great interest in r1:

Anyway, I think you guys did a really great job with OS2!

Thanks again for this great update for r1  :otarabbit: @rabbit @simon @jesse

I loved the intern creating an app, this was well a completely unexpected that it will work, yet it worked. My only request - allow it to iterate on the app, as it was not able to fix some issues that I found.

YES!!!

Absolutely well done to the team. I thought it was quiet and started wondering if, due to intern, the R1 lost focus.

But you are back!

@BlueNexus9 thanks. I’m glad I am not the only experiencing this. I hope they ( @rabbit ) fix this ASAP because I have about 5 meetings tomorrow and I need this to work.

Also I read some of your (@BlueNexus9 ) older posts and I agree when/ if the connection is not stable cache the recording in local storage, then upload vs just the recording going into oblivion. I have lost at least 15 recordings because of this, and the kicker is that I’m on my home wifi in a well-connected area.

Thank you all for such a warm response!

We have a cloud fix incoming for the recorder, please watch this space.

And we are logging all feedback!

Now, I think I need to get some sleep…!

This updating is amazing thank you so much you guys you worked very hard on it. I can tell it’s running perfectly and everything’s great except there’s one bug that I was wondering if you could fix in the next cloud update. It seems to be lingering from OS 1. whenever I turn my R1 to landscape mode sideways, it pulls up the terminal mode from last OS and then when I flip it back to portrait, it shows everything kind of sideways as an error because it’s just remaining.

Never mind I fixed it. It’s very easy. All you have to do is go to the OS one terminal mode by flipping the device and say turn off terminal mode and it does.

Hello! This update and the videos about it finally had me open my Rabbit and begin using it! I was thoroughly disappointed by the reviews I had been reading, and when it finally came I set it aside and hate to say I forgot I had it. I have far too many research projects going on.

Needless to say the video update, how it was announced, and the enthusiasm about the new version caught my attention and I’m glad it did. Congrats to the team on some obviously hard work and commitment!

I’m already reading and learning about the apps, and decided to join the community to provide feedback and encourage you to keep going. This product has so much potential as AI assistant devices become the norm. You have a great head start!

I have to admit my ignorance with these forums. I tried to go into the ideas/suggestions category and start a new topic. I can not figure out how to create a new topic! Help!

I wanted to give two suggestions about the Translate app that would make it infinitely more useful.

  1. After the translation is complete, and has been spoken, let me tap the translated text to have it spoken again! In my test case, I was doing English to Spanish and the volume was too low. I swept the settings opened and turned up the volume, but there was no way to play it a second time. (That I could find?) And then when I wanted to repeat the translation I had to speak the entire thing over again.
  2. After I got the first translation complete with my Spanish speaking friend, and he heard and read my statement, I wanted to allow him to speak to my Rabbit and have it translated back to English for me! But there is currently no quick way (that I can find!) to “swap” the direction of translation. You really could allow me to tap the languages text above the translation to “swap” the direction. On mine, the screen says “translator” with the next line reading “EN ← → ES” and then the translated text. I should be able to tap that second line to simply toggle it to be “ES ← → EN” and then I could press the button and hold it out to my friend.

Anyhow … I can post this to the proper category if I can figure out how to create a topic.

Great job! Keep up the great work!

It would also be nice if adjustments to already made ‘creations’ didn’t cost one Intern credit.
