What is the best way to selectively update the r1 device? For example, I am not a fan of using the r1 as an alarm or a timer. I still don’t see the purpose of having timer functionality included in an AI device aside from having step by step instructions guide you.
Idea for r1:
Instructions the progress step-wise as the r1 magic eye recognizes the completion of an instructional direction. - offers a better use of the capacity and capabilities of an AI device. Allows AI to learn from user definition of ‘complete’ and allows AI to study order and disorder as they relate to talk completion vs task complexity.
Currently, there is no choice but to perform mandatory updates. It is estimated that this will not change in the future because uniformity is required. However, your idea for R1 is a very interesting concept.
Great job! Even if I do prefere the R1 to say the reminder vocally rather than making only a weird sound when ringing the reminder. The same thing as always: I’m blind, I can’t see the screen!
Not sure if we are supposed to give give feedback here but i tried the update and:
“Set a reminder to take out the garbage”, Rabbit responds: OK I will set a reminder to take out the garbage this Wednesday (today is Friday - why does it set the reminder to Wednesday?)
Regardless of whether i set the reminder with or without a date/time no reminders ever show up when i say: “Show all reminders” - it always claims there are no reminders
If i set a reminder which mentions the time but not the date, then Rabbit will take a random day (not today but like 3-4 days from now, the days taken differ)
If i set a reminder without any date or time information, then Rabbit will just pick a random day (but apparently not a time?)
“Show all reminders” does not show any reminders - ever xD at least for me
When a reminder is executed all i hear is an alarm - but i have no clue what the reminder is for? The rabbit does not show on-screen what the reminder is for and it also does not tell me. Which makes it kind of unusable for anything further than 5 minutes into the future
On my unity it does indeed show reminders and even if it chooses a random day when indicating only the time, it rings at the correct time. The thing is that when the reminder rings it only plays a weird stupid alarm sound and it doesn’t say the reminder, as what claimed in the support article.
Hello @Simon and @everyone,
I notice no changes in the new update. For me, reminders always worked well, I used them even before the update and I had no problem. The thing is that when the Reminders ring, they only play the same weird sound used for timers and alarms, even at a high volume, without speaking the reminder with the TTS, as explicitly told in the rabbit support article linked at https://www.rabbit.tech/support/article/rabbit-reminders
For me is a great problem because without being able to see the screen, if I set the reminder for a given time in the same day I can remember it and associate the alarm; but if I set reminders days later, it’s harder to do that.
Vus, I do prefer my R1 to list reminders via the normal TTS rather than only show a reminders menu, again: useful for who can see, completely a pain for me.
Rabbit is mostly relying on screen, assuming that every time you use it you have the possibility of looking at it; but is not always the case, both for me and I think every person using the device. So please take in serious consideration these for a future update. I think we can use the “Tell me my reminders” sentence to trigger the TTS and “Show me my reminders” to make appear the menu as it is now.
I also eagerly await for an integration of reminder deletion via the voice commands, to have a better management of the thing.
After update today two hours ago, I set a reminder. Then I ask to show It to me and It did. Right now I create a New reminder and ask to show me all reminders and the answer was: No reminders. Would you create one? Something IS not going well
The reminder of the 11:00 sounded even when It says that I have no reminders
I created another reminder for 1200 been 1109 here in Spain and the answer was that the time has passed, do not get my local time . Which time does It get?
I set a reminder for 1600 at 1530
The alarm sounded at 1600 but no information of the reminder on the screen and when asked for my reminders only shows the one at 1500 but not this one.
Yep. Keep saying to remember to give temperature in Celsius from now on. Still forgets after a bit. Maybe have that in settings, like every other electronic device for the last couple of decades.
Is understandable that R1 requires you to remember it to say degrees in celsius, because wether forecast are managed by the LLM, which might be GPT-4 or perplexity, who handles the whole conversational nature of the R1. Since they are trained on the American measurement system, they prefer to choose it.
Ray-Ban Meta Smartglasses and Google Gemini live are doing the same thing if you notice. At least I’ve noticed that.
Still you could create a system to add it to the context especially if it needs to look up the temperature with an API… if you provide the right metric to an LLM it will stick to it.
