amazing simon! a big <3 to you and the team’s dedication
That Ornag™ brighter than my future
- Unstable WiFi
- No setting for the metric system. Just Fahrenheit and Miles. I live in Europe.
- No other language in and output than English? Why? Even Claude and ChatGPT can do it.
- The translation feature is incredibly accurate if it works. Unfortunately it’s down most of the time, so not reliable
No matter how I ask about the latest update, Rabbit r1 takes me to the settings menu. I’ve worded it a dozen different ways and requested that I not be taken to the settings menu, and it still does it.
I used to ask about the latest update and it would tell me no problem. The current update send me to the settings menu as often as possible.
I still love the device, but this issue is frustrating. You guys are doing great work and I know you guys are improving this stuff every day so I’m not too worried about it long term.
Celsius and a 24 hour clock! HATE seeing the time in the afternoon…
Other than that, the magic camera… I do so love it, but as a non bearded woman, i do wish I could give it a heads up that I’m not a bearded man… Talk about battering my self esteem!
You can make it respond with Celcius now by saving a note. It took about a day or so for mine to take effect but I did “make a note to always give me the temperature in Celsius”. Then check in the rabbit hole and make sure it saved as a note.
Is this a thing it will follow?? “save a note to always speak like shakespeare” etc?
Not sure about others but for Ceclius it responds with “saving your temperature preference”. Wondering if its pulling from the random note or if it gets saved specially like names are.
This was really bugging me, note saved. Thanks interested to see if this works
For me it worked!
Cool, I’ve just saved the note to the rabbit hole asking for Celsius in future requests. Still giving me (F) lol I’ll give it 24hrs as indicated by raven - [quote=“raven, post:26, topic:140”]

Seems like it is still a little inconsistent since I had it come up as F this morning but maybe it depends how you ask too. Is what it is till we get an actual setting I guess.
I have my phone with me more often than I have my r1 - I wish there was an app on the iPhone that was a shared portal into the rabbit-verse
That the OS is not open source so we can get rid of bad security practices, run commands against local LLMs and extend as we see fit.
You mean apart from:
#1 being coded by people who don’t understand the risk of hardcoding wide-ranging API keys in the source code of a client-side deployment ?
#2 being driven by people opting for the childish reaction when this rookie/punk practice is discovered.
Otherwise my personal facepalm on top of what all the other answers:
The interaction using the wheel and button is so bad, I can’t imagine how it could get past the first internal demonstration meeting ! No differential scrolling speed (non-linearity), creating two click events on double-click (what is it? 1996?). No leverage of the long press. Unbearable ‘back’ function only accessible through title item. No contextual help on hover. Inconvenient hold & roll modality.
Side note: who the hell thought it was a fine idea to have the wheel stick out of the body back plane, making the device wobbly on a flat surface ?!
ok
Not a feature but a missing one which is being able to message people on your behalf or sending an e-mail. Another very basic one is alarms and timers.
The lack of an ambient light sensor has been irksome to say the least. It is decently readable in direct sunlight by virtue of being an LCD, but having to hop into the settings menu to manually change the brightness gets really annoying.
Battery life is a big issue for me. Might just be my unit but it only last about hour. Can literally watch the percentage count down.
First of all: the battery drains REALLY fast
Second: only 4 services out of which i could not even connect one (uber)
and one reported me after 1 hour to change the password due to “suspicious activity” (Spotify)
