Hi folks, in rabbit support - How to use a SIM card with your rabbit r1 there is mention of a SIM PIN option in Settings > Network, which doesn’t show up on my R1… did it move somewhere else?
If your SIM card hasn’t got a pin on it then I don’t think the SIM card pin will show. If you want to activate a sim pin I suspect you will have to put the sim into a phone then set the sim pin in that. The. When you move the sim over the r1 the sim pin box should appear for you to enter sim pin. My sim has no sim pin. So doesn’t show the sim pin box. Unless I do above. The sim pin is to protect the sim from being taken out used in other device. So it will need to be setup before insert into r1. But most don’t use the sim pin in r1 as it’s not needed. This is how I see it my sim has been in since the r1 came out without the sim pin even being on as it’s the only thing i use that sim in.

Thanks. I have the opposite issue: the SIM card keeps prompting for the PIN at every reboot, and I can’t seem to switch it off.
If you have a phone that take SIM card put the SIM card into it and go into its settings turn off sim pin that the easy way, a tablet with mobile internet function may be able to do the same. If that doesn’t work it may be the network that’s put it on. If the sim was move from a phone to the r1 it’s possible it’s that phone of device it was originally in that’s activated the lock
