I visited Verizon last week, and they informed me that they were unable to provide service for it. Has anyone successfully obtained cellular service?
Just tell them its for a tablet. Tmobile did that for me

I have Verizon but have not connected a verizon sim to r1, just hot spot, mint mobile and Tello sim. I would ask for a data only plan. Should be just $10.

I have Verizon and I had an experience that I want to share.
I have an old MiFi that I have been paying for that wanted to just move over.
They told me the IEMI would not process.
I have been with Verizon for almost 20 years so to ask that I use another provider or have to use my MiFi is difficult.
I believe that the company should make it possible to use Verizon.
You’re leaving 114.8 million wireless retail connections out of the experience you want them to have.
It’s something that makes me unable to really use the device in the meaningful way that you would want.
I will keep trying to use the device but it won’t be as often as it could be.

My provider is Consumer Celluar. The chip I am using in the R1 is the chip from my iPad. I have no issues or problems to report since it keeps it active no matter where I go, like my cell phone services.
My cellular is Australian Dodo!
