The hard reset method (holding the button 60 secs) is kinda silly, takes too long, and prevents people from making commands or short memos that go longer than a minute. I suggest using a simple short code tapped out with the button. For example SOS in morse code, …- - -… Three quick taps, three long, three quick. Still kinda silly but wouldnt take as long, wouldnt block other functions, and wouldnt be able to be triggered by accident in someone pocket
Hmm, although maybe some of the button taps wouldnt be recognized by the device when its glitching and needs a reset…
Yeah, pressing and holding for 60 seconds is pretty much the gold standard for mobile devices. It makes sense on phones because it doesn’t interfere with other functions, but on the r1, it’s harder to justify because the main method of communication is by holding the button. I was testing for LAMatHome yesterday and had an extra-long prompt, which cut off because I hit the time limit. However, I do think that holding the ptt button is still the best option, as it’s hard to find an alternative that works as effectively.
I agree with it being the 60s specifically because of how much of a standard this has become.
However, a little bar at the bottom of the screen, or even one that went around the perimeter similar to the Spotify UI, indicating the edge of prompt time, would be nice,
Maybe a slide up or down on the wheel while holding the ptt button. although, that could be used for some other function.
