Spotify login issue- suspicious activity

I linked my Spotify and after a few hours Spotify forced me to reset my password because of suspicious activity. Is this a known issue?

I got that too in Spain, biut it doesn’t seem to be a problem once you’ve done that concerning other devices you log into Spotif with

Same issue. Within hours after linking Spotify in the rabbit hole, I’m asked to reset my password due to suspicious activity. Probably anyone outside US will experience this.

Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience :frowning: FYI - this is something we’re actively working to resolve via a few different methods. When you connect an account via the rabbithole, we basically “freeze” a web browser for you in the cloud. When you ask R1 to take an action for you, we “thaw” that browser and take the action.

(that’s not quite right, but a decent enough analogy - technical details are here overview of LAM security and architecture)

I think what’s happening is, the service providers sees:

  • “Domko is in Minneapolis”
  • 5 seconds later: “Domko is in Seattle”

They interpret this “impossible travel” as a sign of a stolen or shared account. Sorry again for the inconvenience :frowning: We’re working on it :smiley:
