Hi R1 users
I want to let you know in Ireland when getting a sim card. It appears that for Vodafone only bill pay sim cards work. I got a pre paid sim card with data (working using a mobile phone) but when inserted to R1 it did not work. Once we change it to a bill pay sim card … All worked well.

I used a sim from 48.ie no contract.
Works no problem.
Ok good info. I only tried Vodafone and after trial and error troubleshooting with them we could only get it working with bill pay.
Does it matter that it isn’t 5G, or that you may not be able to switch it from one IMEI to another on the same network?
Hi Johan - quick update - I’m using a 3 sim at the moment (three.ie) Tried it in the R1 first and (with wifi off) just got “connecting…” Inserted the sim in a phone and turned on. After a few minutes got internet on the phone. Switched back tot he R1 and connected tot eh internet first time. No issues over the last hour or so.
