Was thinking it would be helpful to have some way to “lock” the PTT button so that r1 doesn’t get woken up constantly in my pocket. Maybe a “shake to wake” setting instead? I haven’t completely worked out an idea for a solution yet but this is something I noticed has been happening and seems to be causing battery drain.
I specifically made sure the case I made for my R1 stuck out juuuuuust further than the button so that it wouldn’t get accidentally pressed for this exact reason.
Wish we had a prox sensor in the display. If the device is in pocket, ignore PTT.
Perhaps a workaround is to use the gyro to determine if the device is upside down? Then you just put it in your pocket top-down and it’ll ignore all button inputs?
What if you could twist the PTT to ‘lock’ it? I’ve also wondered if it’s going to wake up a lot jumbling around in my purse.
Yes Chris’s case works well for carrying around in the pocket, I dont notice it being on when I pull it out to use it.
They could also increase how long you have to hold the button down before it wakes so a simple tiny quick click doesn’t wake it up
