Magic camera gender misidentification

The Magic Camera often misidentifies and disproportionately includes men in photos, creating inaccuracies.

It does say in the description that it is not meant to be accurate.

“disclaimer: Note that any images generated using AI may not accurately reflect real-life entities or situations and may misrepresent certain aspects or details of what is depicted (e.g., gender, race, and other defining characteristics). There is a noticeable trend of leaning toward males in almost all photos, which seems outdated and in need of correction.

Good example too: took a photo of my girlfriend, clearly a female, and made her a dude. I don’t know why the rabbit couldn’t tell but understanding its not supposed to be “accurate” but it should be able to tell someone is a man or women

They cannot be held responsible for both legal and general reasons. AI of this nature is not meant for pure accuracy and doesn’t understand the intricacies of the subjects in the photos. Calling it “Outdated and in need of correction” is not the device’s fault. If we were to include other genders such as non-binary, how would it be able to “know” that that’s what it’s looking it.

I respectfully do not think you are the right person to contribute to this thread.

Well, such a shame. It’s an open forum.

happened to me also when i took a picture of a couple, the camera magic turned the girl from one skin colour to another , that was a bit bizzar

and once when i made a picture of a friend girl , and made her a man

I don’t understand why you quoted the terms. You can’t just say, “we won’t do it lol sorry suckers” and expect that to be acceptable. It’s a weak argument.

I honestly find it funny how r1 has this problem but any/all other generative photo don’t normally make that mistake.

The only problem us that it favors men over women and that may be to do may variables but the fix would be that they look at dress or features to help narrow down down if man or women. Non-binary is a separate issue and can be also fixed later but the identification of the subject can’t be a hard fix and just add instructions for the magic camera to just see if the subject is human and to check gender based on physical attributes or articles of clothing.

Rabbit R1 has struck down in woke hell.

It’s been spot on for me so far. Batch 6, in case it matters.

I find this comment funny. The r1 camera is misidentifying genders!

Are we really having this conversation? Come on, folks, this is likely just a glitch in the code, not some master plan hatched by a ‘man’ in a dark room. It’s like no matter what you do, you can’t please everyone. What’s next? Are we going to cancel the thing because someone decided he/she/they/it whatever misgendered them? Give me a break. It’s a computer, people. It doesn’t have feelings. It doesn’t care and most of us don’t care.

That’s awesome. I can’t think of why it would be batch related. Curious why you got those results!

It’s important to recognize that dismissing the identity of others, especially when coming from a male perspective, does not minimize the significance of identity to others. It’s crucial to acknowledge and rectify this issue.

I don’t disagree that it does have trouble with gender - but I feel like it’s quite random and not purposeful. I have a full grown beard and have been female in a great many of my selfies with the magic cam.

I haven’t been able to find a specific re-testabke reason. My wife has frequently been a man in the shots and my daughter is regularly a boy.

I should also mention that it changes mine and my wife’s skin tone quite consistently.

It appears to make my grown disabled daughter a kid, my middle kid Asian, literally sometimes and me most times, middle eastern.

Daughter, and this theme? Who knows?

It somehow got this from my daughter pushing my oldest daughter in her wheelchair - adult but way wrong.

I think often its reading what I thinks it sees in vision and then tries to remake that! Disclaimer is legit!
