Magic Camera - Discussion

What do you guys think of the new “Magic Camera” feature coming out tomorrow?

Looks solid!

However i hope that we can do other "filters" instead of just this pixelated world thingy. Like "hand drawn 2d cartoon" would be dope

Looks cool! Can’t wait to try it out! Don’t know about putting the rabbit in every image though.

Excited! But a lil bummed the results won’t pick back up on the R1, cause that means having to show my son my phone every 5 minutes when he uses it :joy:

agree, maybe in the roadmap

I like the approach. The camera will never compete with my iPhone camera. So why try?

I very much look forward to using this. I think it’ll be a blast, and make the R1 even more unique.

Honestly I think they should start thinking outside the box like this more often. It’s not always about the device being faster or smarter than everything else. Part of what sets r1 apart is how fun and easy it is to use, and the creativity that surrounds it, and I think it’s really cool to see the team lean into that.

Ngl this is one of my fav features so far

Magic Camera is out!! Loving seeing them all. If you post to socials with #rabbitmagic we will repost our favorites.

How do you use it?

Enter vision mode > single click to take a photo > automagically makes it a magic photo in the rabbithole.

Thanks.

I’ve modified this down to 10 now!

Interesting that there is some consistency in my look when the AI interprets it.

One addition that would be cool is that magic photo preserves the original and produces the magic photo. Putting both in the rabbithole. Its fun to see the difference.

Don’t know hard it would be to impliment this function, but I agree to see the original would be supper cool as I am constantly amazed by these whacky ai interpretations of the original image. Cool work Mike

I’m liking it a lot, and I think it was a great little feature to add! I think it’s important to not just have ‘useful’ features, but also fun ones. Makes the r1 more of a vibe than just for necessities.

I do wish though, two things:

  • It displayed both images in the hole, it’s nice to see the generated one vs the regular
  • It showed the generated one on screen - having to pull out a phone, or wait until you’re at a PC, feels like it’s defeating the purpose a bit.

For now though, nice addition as they work on things.

Hard agree on this. Additionally it would be best to move to another model that doesn’t make me asian every time lol

Relatively new to the r1 and ai functioning.
Looking to connect the camera to the music function. Task is as follows:

  1. Identify QR code on a page

  2. Play the Soundtrack - a Playlist on Apple music on the r1

    Ideally:

  3. recognize an image on a page

  4. Play a link to a Apple Music Playlist

Happy to use intern, or anything to make this happen. Trying to connect visual art to the r1 magic functionality. If it can recognize images, where does this begin/end?

If I have a mapping of image to link - could that help? Does it matter where this is stored? Notion? Excel? Sheets?

If anyone has even a process flow for starting this project - I’d be very appreciative. This tech is opening up much of my creative practice.

Thanks.
