Hey everyone, you know the feeling too! You want to dig something out of the rabbit hole that you need and tada, the session has expired again… So enter your email address and the 127 character password and then tick the box that you are still a human and tada, you are logged in again, at least until the session expires or you log out.
That takes up a lot of time unnecessarily, I would suggest an alternative to the password as an improvement, namely that you just have to enter your email address and then you have to authorize the login from your r1.
This could happen either via Rabbit Eye, like a kind of Face ID, or via a button on the R1 screen, or even better, both!
To avoid misuse and attacks, both devices, i.e. the R1 and the notebook etc., must be in the same local network.
Maybe put your username/email in the website, which generates a phrase that you say to your rabbit, and the rabbit logs you in? There could be an option to then require a pin. That’s totally feasible.
But to be honest, I’m not sure how useful this would be. Why not just use a password manager and use a passkey?
Easier login options for rabbithole on web is not a bad idea (although, you really should make your life both more secure and easier by using a good password manager) but as far as r1… i am unsure the camera is a high enough sensor to be used for any kind of face verification.
Why not using passkeys? This is a well known authorization standard providing similar functionality and should be no rocket science to implement. Should work either in Android or iOS/Apple universe. I just tried it out within this forum itself, where it is already available and it works well.
