Conencting to iPhone HotSpot

Has anybody successfully been able to do this? I can’t seem to conenct to my phone’s hotspot.

I set up to join my home network during setup but now would like to link to iPhone.
No options to change wifi settings, no options to be found to change anything?

I have iPhone 12 Pro, I had not problem connecting the r1 to the iPhone WiFi hotspot. Have you tried changing the password on your iPhone hotspot to a selection of letters and numbers only

i have my iphone hotspot password setup to be my cellphone number lol. had it like this for years. but r1 sees it, connects briefly (based on the iphone screen saying so), then seconds later conenction is dropped from iphone and r1 displays connection failed.

Have not been able to connect either. R1 has become a paper weight

Go to r1 setting and then click networks, go to scroll down it should say cellular, roaming, WiFi and then my networks and below that it says networks that will list all networks in your area you can the go down them and once found the one you want highlight it and then click button on side of r1 it will then come up with connect click button and it should tell you t turn the r1 and input the password for the network your after connecting to.
If your r1 doesn’t see the network or hotspot this can happen on iPhones it seems a random thing. If you want to forget a just go to networks and go down to the network you want to forget click the button on side r1 and then click forget.

i wouldn’t go that far. u just have to think outside the box a bit.

Ok try this go to networks and then turn off WiFi give it a second all networks should disconnect and the WiFi networks should disappear then click the WiFi again for them to come back and see if that calls up the extra networks. It’s odd that it’s not showing other network in your area that would normally show also hotspots.
If none of this works you may need to reboot the rabbit or reset it. That’s the only way I can think it may bring them up.

unsure if you’re talking to me. the hotspot network shows up in the list for me. it allows me to input the password. it accespts the password. iPhone then has green bar at top stating device is connected. then maybe <10secs later, connection is dropped and r1 says conenction failed. i’ve forgotten the network multiple times and restarted r1, and issue persists. I was also an Apple Genius for 5+ years, so i’m well versed in iPhone troubleshooting to say the least lol.

That’s a problem with the iPhone it sometimes seems to drop the r1 hotspot that could be the security on the iPhone or other networks in the area being stronger signal and wiping out the connection. It could also be the r1 needs WiFi software update a few people have had the same problem. I have noticed it with my home WiFi odd times the r1 drops the connections. I have my r1 connected to my home network which is a home mobile broadband. Also connected to my iPhone hotspot, and r1 had a sim in it. I found the best connection was the SIM card in the r1. I don’t always have my phone but I tried the r1 sim in a valley today and it worked without a problem. Plus I can now use it anywhere I have a cellular connection. It’s cheap 30days rolling contract at £5 a month for 5GB and unlimited calls and txt. Plus I can cancel anytime. Most have found that to be the most reliable way for r1. After home networks. But also other who have android phones seem not to have as many hotspot connections problems as iPhone.

i hear you.

my thing is i have unlimited 5G hotspot with my iphone. that’s why i don’t want to purchase another sim just for my r1. Technically, in my case, there’s no need…and shouldn’t be. i’m already paying Tmobile extra for my watch

I have Apple ultra watch that shares my 02 iPhone sim I also have a esim on Vodafone in the same iphone as above o2. And in the r1 Lebara sim. my home mobile broadband is on three.
To could be a mix of things that being the r1 WiFi needs software update for the WiFi module and it can be also the iPhone hotspot or iPhone security. Also Some sims allow data not used to be carried over to the following month.

I am also unable to connect to my iPhone 14 hotspot with the R1. I connect the R1 to my home Wi-Fi also drops. I believe that that’s a distance issue for the R1

yea i have no trouble at home. but i also have a mesh network. just hope to get the hotspot issue resolved.

It does seem to be the iPhone and r1 I had it drop but now use all 3 networks home network is turned on, iPhone hotspot when I need it and sim in r1. I found sim in r1 was best and makes it easier as I don’t have phone all time. Plus it’s not using the phone battery.

I’ve been able to connect to my iPhone 15 Pro Max (eventually). It didn’t work the first few times I tried and so I tried later on in the day, and somehow it finally worked. Perhaps more on screen feedback on the current stage of connection might be useful.

are you able to re-connect successfully moving forward? or was this a one-off?

It gives you feedback when it drops or picks up connection but it’s a quick message on screen and is a little faint. As for network it is a bit flaky with iPhone connection hotspot. Not so much with android or home network, I found sim in r1 works better and is more convenient.

Another iPhone user here who hasn’t been able to connect via a hotspot. I’ve tried multiple times, resetting, etc, every time its the same, the iPhone shows the green hotspot connected icon briefly but then the r1 says connection failed.

Can’t find anywhere that lets me change or even find settings?
