The existing charger specs on the Rabbit r1 is: 5V-1A.
Question: Can i charge the Rabbit r1 with a higher capacity?
Eg: Can I use 5V-3A to charge the Rabbit r1?
I don’t want to burn up (blow up in fire this device!)
Anyone know?
Thanks for any help here.
Amperage typically only refers to the maximum drawable power for the plug or charger. It should be perfectly fine to use this cord for a Rabbit R1 since it would only pull 1A which would be available. (I am not an electrical engineer)
I use this with usb C cable and it charges the r1 quick. I prefer well known makers for chargers rather than the cheap unknown.
I’m also not an electrical engineer but my understanding is it will only draw the required amperage and should therefore be fine!
Thank you so much Cat for your reply, I’m an older retied person & I do understand the 5V-1A chargers for the older type devices, & only draw what ampage they need…All my new device chargers are 5V-3A (& yes I only use the original manufacturer’s chargers where possible, & not cheap unknown brand chargers). Yesterday I asked Rabbit r1 tech support for an official answer to my question regarding this since the “5VDC 1A” is on the original delivered Rabbit r1 box. …I’m aware of leaving a device on charge past the 100% for long periods of time can cook a device & shorten the internal battery life in some cases. …Still waiting for Rabbit tech support reply.
…Anyway thanks again for your reply. …cheers Rick
