Can touch screen be optional in OS2?

First, thanks for the hard work that went into OS2. With the exception of what’s below, it is an awesome upgrade.

I use R1 a lot. The bottom of my rabbit hole says “your rabbit was born on june 27, 2024, and has been with you for 4,228 journal entries”. I keep it in my pocket pretty much all the time, especially while working. Given my outdoor career, I’ve found it to be a valuable tool for a lot of reasons, but especially for jotting field notes down for future reference. But since OS2, I’ve had some negative experiences with my R1 - and they all relate to the touch screen.

First, there have been many instances when I’ve pulled R1 out of my pocket and found it to have been doing stuff on its own while in my pocket. The first time it reset the language on the device to…German (I think). I tinkered around enough to set it back to English. At another time, I pulled it out and the screen was asking me if I was sure I wanted to factory reset the device. It’s also accidentally opened up one of my creations a couple times (2 thumbs up for creations by the way. I was wondering how the heck you guys were going to tie intern into the R1. Makes sense now.) Another time it somehow disabled the audio in responses.

As an extension to the screen issue, the battery is also draining really quickly now because R1 thinks I keep touching the screen. I don’t have any hard data, but my guess is it’s draining 50% faster now because of all the accidental touches in my pocket.

The result has been that I haven’t really been keeping R1 in my pocket since OS2. I just keep it nearby somewhere out of reach - which defeats the purpose of having the R1 for me. I prefer it staying within reach at all times.

Can I request that a setting be added under the display menu to disable the touch screen? I would much prefer to use the scroll wheel and button to interact with R1 instead of the screen. If I need to use the screen to interact with one of my creations, I can just enable it while I need it and disable it again when I’m done.

Thanks again for the hard work Jesse and team.
