When do you plan to open this forum as the “official” channel for support? Discord doesn’t have the required organization and features and reddit is, well, reddit.
I feel the tumbleweeds rolling by in here right now. But on a positive note, there are thankfully no “when is my r1 shipping” posts.
Yeah, I kinda feel the forum needs some fresh activity.
But I wouldn’t like to think it would be a free for all entry into the forum.
How to achieve that is something else, I just hate the negativity in chitchat and Reddit.
I agree. Moderators set the tone for a forum. I run one and have little tolerance for bad behavior.
Initially, registration could be limited to r1 owners. Everyone else would be free to browse, but not create or respond to posts.
Totally get that, been a little quiet - I think (hope) with shipments speeding up this month, they’ll up the pace of owners in here.
On the other hand, given how much everything else is a cesspool, it’s nice have actual friendly vibes. A little quiet, but at least everyone is respectful, and we don’t have the content of discord’s chit chat and reddit spewing constantly, so I’ll take that over nothing.
we are in the final stages of testing the forum. once that is done, we will likely open up for more members to join!

also, i’m mostly off this week. i sent the biggest batch of invites yet before i went off, but the idea was to never have more than 100 people here max before we open it up more publicly. it’s a testing phase - which we’re still in (but the phase is going very well!)
I’m glad you and the team are taking the time to get this right before launching it. Could easily go sideways and would be difficult to fix once opened up completely
