I mainly listen to music through the speakers in my house. With the phone app I am using Spotify Connect for this. Would be lovely if the r1 would let me do this too.
And to be able to join a Spotify Jam on the speakers would be sweet too!

This would be great. I am using Ikea-speakers which are compatible with Spotify Connect, Airplay and Sonos app.
My r1 was able to play Spotify through a Sonos speaker on the same wireless network with zero to minimal setup. I’m not sure which steps are required but here’s what I did:
- Connect Android phone, Sonos speaker, and r1 to same wireless network
- Play music through the phone speaker via Spotify app on phone
- Play that same music through the Sonos speaker (by pressing the little Speaker icon on the song track bar in the app and selecting your networked Sonos speaker)
- Pause the music on the Spotify phone app
- r1: {PTT} “Play
<any song>by<any artist>” [meaning, the phone was playing song X but I had the r1 tell Spotify to play song Y] - It worked!
