Spotify is no longer usable on my r1, but the reason for this is not that it doesn’t work technically, but because I unfortunately had to disconnect the connection to Spotify in the Rabbit Hole, because otherwise I can no longer use my r1 for other things because Spotify simply starting up by itself while I’m entering a prompt to SunoIA, for example, and thus making the input completely unusable.
So it’s not a technical problem related to Spotify, but a r1 usability problem that is related to the following topic.
This has happened several times now and it’s no longer funny.
By the way, I think these multiple functions of the PTT button are not really conducive to the usability of r1, quite the opposite.
I found out that it seems to be a bit of a technical problem. It has something to do with the fact that when you press the PTT button on r1 in idle mode, enter a prompt and then the scroll wheel suddenly jumps (because it is too imprecise or it has too few scanning points). Then that’s it for the prompt when you have Spotify connected to r1.
I think usability should be the top priority for every device; that has always been the recipe for success for every successful device and every good software.
In case you definitely want to use Spotify on your r1 and with r1 as I also want to use e.g. SunoIA. As a workaround, I would simply suggest fixing the scroll wheel with adhesive tape so that it cannot jump if, for example, the problem should be not solved at the software level.
After generating a song using Suno, I noticed that when I returned to the idle state and pressed the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button, Spotify started playing automatically. This happened twice. I had to stop music playing in Spotify via voice command.
Steps to Reproduce:
Generate songs using Suno.
Observe that two songs are displayed.
Return to the idle state.
Press the PTT button.
Expected Behavior:
The device should remain in the idle state without triggering Spotify playback.
Actual Behavior:
Spotify begins playing unexpectedly when pressing the PTT button.
Frequency:
Occurred twice so far, as many times as I generated songs using Suno.
