Hello @everyone, Hello @Rabbit,
Since other 2 blind people, a part from me, are using their R1, they’ve purchased it impressed by my reviews on https://kngworld.it/, They have asked me: wouldn’t it be possible if R1 has a little sound when I long press the button for asking something? Just to be sure R1 is listening to us.
For me it’s not a problem, even if I can’t see the rabbit’s hears spin up, I know my device and can perfectly use it, but for them is quitely concerning to not having a proper sound feedback when R1 is listening at their request. Now I am requesting the same to you: wouldn’t it be possible to implement such features?
Waiting for a reply.
Hey @KarimGouda04 - I know we’ve chatted about accessibility features in the past. FYI - we are actively working on this, and I expect to see it land in the coming weeks.
In general, the underlying problem might be that when pressing the button, rabbit is not reliably always listening. Especially, I noticed it after coming back from sleep. It first connects to network, and then I cannot simply keep the button pressed, but need to release, and then press again for it to finally listen.
That’s a really great news and thanks for letting me know!
Very happy too to hear the good news from MattDomko , I add the sound when R1 is ready to listen in the list of sugestions in Accessibility options for r1
Simply press the button quickly 5 times before making any request, and this problem will never be as annoying as it has been until now.
This tip seems to be a workaround for this problem for me…
By pressing the button 5 times in rapid succession before making a request, users can apparently avoid a recurring problem that has been causing frustration. This simple action appears to be an effective solution to enhance the user experience and reduce annoyance when interacting with the system.
I hope this can help.
P.S.: @KarimGouda04 I am Italian as you and sometimes I watch your videos on Youtube, keep it up, you’re awesome!!! Very great work!
Lol, that would be even more annoying. For me, trying to press the button 5 times is only an option when things really go wrong. Not when just waking the device up from sleep.
No problem…
“In this world, there are 10 types of people. Those who press the PTT button 5 times, and those who prefer not to…”
However, it’s only necessary the first time after a long period, not for every request. I expressed myself poorly. I meant to say for each initial request, there will be far fewer errors and failed procedures. Try it to believe it!
My annoyance is only that I can’t hold PTT to wake up the device and make it listen. Instead, I have to click once to wake up, then release, and then press and hold another time to bring the ears up for listening.
