rabbitos devs ?

This is probably a pretty basic question but I’ve been wondering do all the developers working on rabbit OS Have a rabbit R1 device and are they using it regularly? I find if you really have to live with a device it gives you so much more motivation to make it better. Also just wondering about what the company vibe is? Is it very heads down no nonsense or is it a sort of playful environment?

Jesse has said they practice dogfooding so all the staff have their own devices that they use every day and all features are implemented on their devices 10 days before they go live.

Yep, everyone at the company has a device and is encouraged to have a staff build - although for some people it makes more sense for them to be on the public build (customer support folks etc)

Company vibe… I’d say it’s a balance. The workload is a lot, so there’s a lot of heads down building, but the culture is broadly good from my perspective, although we’ve had our share of growing pains like any startup. I think we could have more fun. I want arcade machines in the office :joy:

I feel very close to my org (marketing org) and we all have great rapport

Not sure who else is on here but… I love it  The last thing I saw posted was something like 30ish engineers? With a team that small, it means that everyone gets to work on a feature that will get seen/touched/celebrated/demolished.

As far as playing with r1s goes, I use recording sessions as a way to brain dump before I end the day, and as a rubber duck when I’m walking the dog.

My nephew loves magic camera, so I spend about an hour a week setting up custom prompts for it and redeploying my dev environment so that he gets a new experience, and then 2 hours on Friday listening to an 8 year old say, “ why do we have to look on your phone for the picture uncle Matt” (yes - engineers have features we want but don’t have time to make too)

I think they are up to close to 50ish now last I heard… That’s still a very small team for a product this ambitious.
