R1 Easter Eggs & Quirks

Hey everyone. So another user in the discord asked if anyone had found any unique Easter eggs with the R1. Its an interesting question because I think there are a lot of things about the R1 you really only learn by using it for a while. Thinking about this inspired me to list some of the things I really like that I feel go mostly unnoticed.

  1. sometimes when you call an Uber, the R1 replies with “taxi!”. pretty minor but its very cute
  2. you can actually hack magic cam by drawing a basic sketch and then taking a picture of that. you can basically make any scene you want
  3. The spreadsheet function is only supposed to work for editing spreadsheets, meaning that you need to take a pic of a spreadsheet. but you can actually take pictures of some tables in pictures too and ask R1 to convert them to spreadsheets.
  4. when doing an update (like OTA) there is a very cute animation that indicates the update is finished. its hard to catch it lol
  5. you can actually hack the R1 to constantly stay in terminal mode by going into terminal mode, and then asking it to turn off terminal mode via voice by holding the button. as long as the screen stays on, it will stay in terminal mode no matter the orientation! (very nice when its acting up as you completely bypass the voice stuff which is kind of buggy right now. very useful for me when I’m working on LAMatHome)
  6. you can actually ask R1 to choose its own name. Its a little hard but if you keep pushing it, it will choose a very unique and elegant name for itself. It will even give you the reason why it chose this name.
  7. The R1 can recall information across multiple notes and not just one. This means that with the right prompting, you can play text dungeon adventures and actually pick up where you left off. Its not super granular but it can work really well if you engineer your prompts and note saves correctly.
  8. you can prompt R1 to give you a longer response. This is really useful because you can force it to give you more text which means you will get a full screen scrollable response!
  9. you can search on amazon and YouTube using R1

Comment below with how many of these you were not aware of

I like #3 and displayed it on YT as a use case. Sometimes random tables not in a digital format are a pain! I got them now.

I’ll also tell you all my “Midjourney Description Hack” - Talk to R1 tell it to make a description of a scene and tell it what you want to embody. When you get a nice description tell rabbit to make that description into an image and WOW… These have been stunning images so far!

#3 I actually got from your YouTube video! I watched it yesterday and was impressed it actually got it. It needs to be more stable but when it works it’s great. Thanks for uploading that

And that’s an amazing tip with the MJ stuff. Using an LLM to make a prompt is a very effective workflow for things like MJ or even stable diffusion. Its great to see the form factor of the R1 makes that seamless. I used to have a subscription way back, maybe I will get one again

I’d say the biggest Easter Egg is the cute little Rabbit that shows up in most Rabbit Magic images :sparkles: :rabbit2: nn:rabbit:

So correction, while it might look like any journal entry can be edited, it seems like only the notes can. Sorry everyone!

One way to explore unique features on your r1 device is by experimenting with voice commands. Try using unconventional phrases or keywords to interact with the device. Additionally, you can customize the device’s settings to personalize your experience further. Exploring different voice command combinations and settings adjustments may reveal hidden functionalities that others might not be aware of.

  1. Easter Egg Commands: Try using playful or creative phrases like “Tell me a joke,” “Sing me a song,” or “Do you have any secrets?” to see if there are hidden responses or interactions.

  2. Custom Voice Commands: Consider setting up custom voice commands for specific actions or tasks you frequently perform. For example, you could create a custom command like “Start my day” to trigger a series of personalized morning routines.

  3. Personalized Settings: Explore the settings menu on your r1 device to adjust preferences such as voice volume, screen brightness, or language settings to tailor the device to your liking.

  4. Voice Memo Tricks: Experiment with voice memos by using different prompts like “Summarize my day,” “Save this for later,” or “Create a new note” to see how you can optimize your note-taking experience.

  5. Interactive Stories: Engage in storytelling by asking the device to “Tell me a story” or “Create a fictional tale” to unlock creative narratives or prompts for imaginative exploration.
