OS3 just massively levelled up
hey everyone, we’ve shipped a bunch of updates to OS3, the desktop app and r1, including a major performance boost. here’s what’s new.
OS3
- nearly 5× faster: in our first internal benchmarks, OS3 completed the same tasks nearly 5× faster, while using fewer tokens.
- streaming responses: replies now appear in real time in the browser and Telegram.
- better agent visibility: see what OS3 is working on, with clearer errors and a retry option.
- conversation search: search entire conversations with Cmd+F / Ctrl+F, on desktop and web.
- up to 20 computers: increased from 5 connected computers per account.
- image generation: add your own image model under settings → api keys.
- connected apps overhaul: a simpler way to discover and manage integrations, including custom local or remote MCP apps, with expanded compatibility.
- better web browsing: OS3 can now read JavaScript-heavy websites through your connected computer.
- more Mac browsers: added Helium, Chromium and Brave support.
- simpler settings: eight reorganised sections, including dedicated permissions and channels.
desktop app
- automatic connection: rabbit agent is now built into the macOS and Windows apps. sign in to connect your computer automatically, no terminal needed. disconnect anytime from the rabbit OS3 menu.
- display settings: customise interface and chat text sizes under settings → account.
r1
- faster responses: simple requests on r1, Telegram and Messages no longer need a background agent.
- third-party agent controls: choose whether agents like Claude Code can access your computers through r1 under settings → r1. enabled by default, without affecting OS3’s own access.
- carrots are back: OS3 conversations on r1 earn carrots again.

fixes and smaller improvements
we’ve also added confirmation prompts, clearer download errors, a jump-to-new-messages button, improved Mac permission indicators, expired approval notices, accessibility improvements, Safari fixes and other UI polish.
we’d love to hear how the performance improvements feel in everyday use. give OS3 a try and keep the feedback coming!
