Idea for a useful and (I would think) fairly easy to implement feature…a mode where r1 focuses on the loudest voice it hears and types out whats said on the screen. Maybe we’d hold it, screen out, while speaking, with the text rolling by in large font, like a reverse teleprompter lol…or maybe it’d just type out the whole message on screen and then we pass the r1 to the other person, like passing notes.
The problem with this is I’m pretty sure it’s not a live stream word for word, it recors your voice while ptt is being held, then sends the whole thing to the tts vendor
Yeah your right, it’d need some on device speech to text thing, but that only seems a little more complicated than I was thinking it would be, there’s probably a few open sourced android speech to text programs
Google has live captions available on most android devices, and just needs an internet connection. It really doesnt do too well sometimes and its quite hilarious. I have it in my quick search settings as i sometimes struggle with audio processing, so i thought it might help. You can usually find it in accessibility apps or settings. The R1 wouldnt do too well with it as hardware plays a huge part, and you want the speaker as clear as possible.
