introducing the ALL NEW magic recorder :magic_wand:

hi everyone - we’re so excited to be sharing this latest over-the-air (OTA) update, rolling out right now to your rabbit r1.

this update is a complete rehaul of our recorder feature, and to really drive this home, we decided to rename it to magic recorder!

here’s everything that’s new:

  • significantly improved stability for cloud synced recordings
  • retry on failed uploads with a one-tap retry option on device
  • world class transcription quality with higher accuracy across voices and environments
  • smarter highlights and summaries with deeper context and better structure
  • automatic speaker identification where possible for clearer conversations
  • ask questions about your recordings directly from r1
  • live highlighting during recording to mark key moments as they happen
  • attach images during recording, automatically timestamped to align with the exact moment in the conversation
  • full transcriptions available directly on r1- no need to leave the device
  • one-tap email export to instantly send highlights, transcripts and summaries to yourself
  • triple click shortcut to instantly launch recorder
  • offline support for viewing previous summaries and transcriptions on r1

So I used this today for a client meeting. I’m CEO of an AI Consulting firm, and as such, use many different AI tools for transcription and summaries of meetings. I was blown away by this today! It absolutely nailed it! It’s the best tool for the task I’ve used to date! Congratulations to the whole Rabbit team! The main issue with these transcription tools is: where does the data go?

Can’t use it in any meaningful way if the recordings and transcriptions are not guaranteed to be secure. Plaud put a lot of emphasis on privacy & security (it comes at a price).

I’ve just ordered another R1 for my COO, that’s how useful the Magic Recorder is! Well done Rabbit. @simon @jesse I might be ordering more soon!

I want to echo @AlanK - guys, this update has added an incredible amount of value to this device for me. The quality of the meeting summary, the triple press shortcut, the ability to email the notes to myself…Great, great work @jesse and rabbit team! Absolutely exceptional.
