I would like to comment on the new look of Magic Photo, which has been the default since the December update. While the quality may now appear more professional and refined, the intended cuteness of the manga style has become far too strong for my personal taste.
Originally, I really appreciated the 8-bit aesthetic. The manga look that followed was actually great. However, in its current form it feels so over-the-top and kitschy that I have stopped using Magic Photo altogether.
The mix of an almost realistic photo look with manga-style faces simply doesn’t work for me. Perhaps this should be something users can fundamentally choose in the settings—how they want their images to look. As it is now, it’s not appealing to me.
