Hey all!
I’ve been working on a concept for UI related to reminders or notifications.
please let me know what you guys think and any criticism you may have!
-
The whole idea is basically - the user will get this initial view seen (the one that looks like the regular view). When a reminder or a notification shows up, the device vibrates/rings as well as displaying this border with a scrolling bar of text.
-
The scrolling text will show the reminder name and how much time is remaining (“T - 15:09” 15 minutes and 9 seconds remaining)
-
When the user scrolls down (like scrolling down for Spotify) the user will be greeted with a detailed breakdown of the reminder/notification. It will look like the little bar at the top rolled down to form the detailed view. This can contain a title, description and a larger T - countdown to show the time until the deadline.
main screen with rabbits simple graphics with the 3 themes of the UI i have made so far.
cross-comparison between simple graphics and a realistic mockup.
I'd like to take this opportunity to discuss a concern I have regarding the direction of the UI.
An example of quirky and original UI for me would be the voice memo. I think it looks unique and stands out when compared to other voice memo services.
This same character isn’t really seen in other aspects of the UI. For example, the early versions of the timer demoed by Jesse in the discord seem to be a sibling of the Spotify UI.
I’m aware UI is a time-consuming and difficult task and I don’t mean to imply that original and cool UI isnt already the goal. However, it is a small concern I have.
I hope my work here inspires the community to help with brainstorming some serious attempts at original UI or even inspires the UI team in some way shape or form. (not saying my work here is groundbreaking)
Thank you for reading my lil concern plus looking at my UI idea! :]
