RabbitHole app for Smartphone

Hi everyone, I think it would be useful to have a rabbithole app for smartphones. Not only to have access to Journal or Connections from our smartphone but above all to create a bridge between Rabbit and your smartphone. In this way we could ask Rabbit to transfer information to the phone or we could receive notifications on the phone that remind us of the reminders set with Rabbit (useful for all the times we don’t have Rabbit with us…obviously as soon as it is possible to set reminders with Rabbit. …)

As a coworker of mine suggested to me today, if you have purchased the hardware, it’d be great to be able to access all the features via an app. This would indeed make it more convenient to manage Journal entries, Connections, and receive reminders directly on our phones.

It would also be beneficial if the app could be used without the hardware, allowing more users to experience Rabbit’s features and potentially encouraging them to invest in the hardware later.

I think that would be useful but MORE useful would be the ability to access rabbit hole on the rabbit itself… much more important

Absolutely agree!! Especially to delete wrong content, and continue the conversation; access to / review a specific note with the wheel, …

Good idea, but in pespective to avoid smartphones and generally decrease smartphone time, not so. Just imagine you take 2 devices in your pocket.
Probably they should solve issues with notes creatian make better voice control to update and manage notes, so you don’t need any smartphone to review it

Honestly my idea is not so much to have Journal on the smartphone but rather to have a bridge between Smartphone and Rabbit R1 so that I can use Rabbit to send messages, receive notifications on the phone, send emails, save notes, etc etc.

Rabbit was born with the aim of replacing the smartphone… but until you can beat them, make friends with them

I added hole.rabbit.tech as a bookmark on the home page. It’s a start.

A companion only really serves its purpose if it accompanies you. I find the app itself interesting, but it would actually be completely sufficient and would also mean a little less effort if @rabbit simply optimized the Rabbit Hole website much better for mobile devices, so that you could access and share the content more easily and if Rabbit Hole could also send notifications directly via the browser. Technically, all of this is certainly possible, but I suspect that Rabbit is currently simply lacking the manpower for it…

If it were possible to use Rabbit without hardware, then r1 and any future Rabbit hardware would be as good as dead.

Thank you for your insightful response, @leahcim. You’ve raised some excellent points that really make me reconsider the idea my coworker suggested.

Reflecting on your comments, I realize we need to be careful about not undermining the R1’s value. Perhaps instead of a full-featured app, as my coworker suggested, a more R1-centric approach would be better. For instance:

  • Optimized Web Interface: Your suggestion of improving the Rabbit Hole website for mobile use could be an excellent compromise. It would enhance accessibility without diluting the R1’s unique features.

  • R1-Dependent Features: If any mobile features are developed, they should be designed to complement the R1, not replace it. Maybe allowing users to queue tasks or questions for when they next use their R1.

  • Limited Companion Tool: If an app is developed, it could be a simple tool that only works in conjunction with the R1, handling basic notifications or quick information access.

The goal should indeed be to make the R1 more valuable to its owners, not to create an alternative to it. How do you think Rabbit could improve accessibility while still maintaining the R1’s central role in their ecosystem?

@jesse actually already answered this question at CES, r1 should be the most intuitive computer in the world to use and in my opinion that can only be achieved by using the full power of the AI in it to centrally enable everything that r1 can already do and should be able to do in the future. Simply with a press of the PTT button, speech and with an AI that can understand very well what the user wants from it and if they don’t fully understand or if there are better options, it then asks questions or even makes better suggestions itself. Basically, in the best case scenario, r1 should work in such a way that because of the full power of the AI on it and the LAM you can put your smartphone down and just tell r1 what you need. That’s more or less how I would imagine it and I’m 100% sure that if it were done right, we would all no longer want to touch our smartphones or other computers voluntarily and simply would rather talk to r1.

In order to achieve this goal, I think it is particularly important not to go down the same path as smartphones or iPhones, but to go in completely new or different ways, so that everyone is always clear that r1 is not a smartphone, but a completely new generation of device that is different and much better!
