Rabbit R1 delivered defective after cancellation – no support response

Hey Rabbit enthusiasts!

I ordered a Rabbit R1 on 2025-05-25, which I’ve then cancelled within one hour via ticket #68003.
Support only sent an automated acknowledgment.

I then received the device on 2025-06-05 anyway, with nothing from Rabbit in the meantime.
Now to keep raising the bar - The unit rattles when shaken. Like seriously, check it out - Microsoft OneDrive

It also badly fails to understand English ↔ Romanian mixed commands - it only gets either one or the other based on the device language, but when I set it to my native language and use common English words popular in my native language (such as “hello”, “hey”, “brand”, “market” etc) it’s like its deaf.

So I opened another ticket #68234 with video evidence for rattling.
No resolution or timeline from support so far.

Has anyone else seen this?
How did you get Rabbit’s support to respond?
Any escalation tips or alternative contacts?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like you got a Rabbit Lemon. I have had mine for a smidgen over a year and have not had any challenges with it. @simon may be able to help you out.

Hi! Not sure what Rabbit Lemon is, a link would be helpful. Thought I got the rabbit r1 but happy to learn. @simon can you help as per the message above? (previous tag seem to produce only reacts)

there’s really not a single good experience I’m having with anything rabbit so far

“lemon” is a term for a device or item that does not work well. (USA phase). I hope you get some help. It is amazing how experiences can vary. I hope your Rabbit gets fixed and you get to enjoy using it.

Hi @allex1911 - so sorry to hear about your experience, it’s not what we want for our customers. I have requested an update on your ticket, but we do have a little backlog…

We’ll get the unit swapped out for you with regards to the rattling.

On the languages part, I’m afraid that the quality does vary depending on the language with some being more accurate than others. This was the tradeoff we had to make in order to support a large range of languages as opposed to just a handful of common ones.

It’s quite possible that we’ll need to switch to a better model in order to fix this, but I unfortunately don’t have a timeline on this right now.

Hi @simon

I’ve got a reply from support with an approved refund request (Y6NO3QU5) last Wednesday, but nothing back so far.

Regarding the language use - I am now concluding it fails basic English queries as well, so multilingual is actually far off the radar. More often than not is failing/missing words or misunderstanding completely in plain/basic English, among many other context or comprehension issues.

I hope in the future you’ll switch your focus to making r1 usable, at least for basic queries (with practical comparisons to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc - this comparison is essential to understand the lack of anything in rabbit r1’s answers), instead of launching new products, and regain the trust of your community.

Thanks,
Alex
