Cooking with Rabbit

It would be cool to have a cook with rabbit feature where it tells you what to cook and is with you every step of the way.
Through the camera it would see what you have to cook with, tell you how much to use, start timers when you put the items in the pot/pan. It would be like an AR experience. I’m not sure if the rabbit is there yet but it could be possible with teachmode

We as a family do the weekly shopping with pleasure with a simple shopping list app called “we need” [1] or previously “bring!” [2].

The nice thing is that we can use another app called “fooby” [3] to inspire us what we would like to cook based on real-life-recipes, where you simply can click and add the required items based on the amount of people using that recipe to the above shopping list.

Then in the shop [4] we use our shopping cart & passabene electronic scanner and buy & pack everything we need in a few moments and pay at the self-check-out counter.

The overall-process is very efficient and safes a lot of time.

Then when we use a product with a barcode often, we scan the code with Yuka [5] to see if the product is safe to consume or if it has a lot of bad ingredients.

I think the only way rabbit can support us at the moment is adding more apps to the rabbit hole, which are used in a specific region. That brings us back to priorities and that’s where my post ends for today.

All the things, I do before the cooking starts:
[1] WeNeed. The shared shopping list from Switzerland
[2] https://www.getbring.com (not working for me anymore)
[3] Discover the FOOBY app | fooby.ch
[4] https://www.coop.ch/en/
[5] Yuka - The Mobile App That Scans Your Products

For actual cooking, I only use it for the following things:

  • Convert Fahrenheit temp. to Celsius
  • Convert Inches into Centimeters
  • need to experiment a little…

i am sure that at some points I’ve asked for recipes or ideas to cook but that’s most of what I’ve used it for in this use case

Update, WeNeed.ch is working together with LAM Playground…

We’ve successfully added and removed items from the list. Great use case, will try with the other apps too.
