I’m assuming your investors wouldn’t allow this, even though you’ve probably broken even by now. But… This device could be all that it was hyped to be if you released hardware specs, and code to the open-source community. Let US develop and innovate a in a fraction of the time.
You answered your own question and in fact Jesse had stated soemthing similar to this on one of the feedback calls a few weeks back. He wouldn’t have a say in making it open source and its highly unlikely that the investors would either.
To clarify, this was in response to someone asking that if rabbit somehow folded, would they open source the project.
Just to make sure this doesn’t get misconstrued - nothing said was completely certain and nothing was guaranteed.
Honestly, this idea is dead on arrival, outside the company going out of business, and it being open sourced as a last ditch effort at doing the right thing…
No instead, if you want open sourced, the 01 lite is likely the thing you want.
Otherwise, the r1, with all its good and bad, is closed source, and that’s okay.
BTW, I’m an open source fan, my OS is open source, so I believe in it, but this is not the route to getting more open source stuff.
