At first I have to say that I do not like capslock titles or sentences.

If an idea have good arguments, the idea will be supported. Capslock do not support this.

To your suggestion I would like to give an other suggestion with the following intro question:

Why we should decide between an option A and option B?

The rabbit r1 is our personal assistant.
The goal of our rabbit should be on individualization.

Pesonally I like to use my rabbit r1 like a walkie talkie, although I am open minded for new technical features because of my job in the IT sector.

@Tofi has mentioned a very good argument for the case if the rabbit do not react anymore of our voice commands. In the IT you have to always a plan B in this cases. Pressing button is a very good solution.

The individualization is the key the rabbit r1 will be get the personal assistent as we want. Later with the teach-mode in this year, we have a great device compared with other technical devices or smartphones.

So I do not like to decide between two options.
I prefer the compromise to have both options, which we can activate or deactivate in our settings.

What would you say about this compromise which will increase the individualization much more as your option A and option B?

Please, no more Morse code development!

Basically, I think this compromise is really good, I really have to say, and the idea that it should be stored in the settings is also exactly the same and absolutely essential. There is just one thing though… I think it absolutely has to be possible to switch off these Morse code-like button functions completely. I mean, if you’re into something like that, please do, I don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun, but you can’t exclude people with motor disorders and that’s what happens with functions like…

Totally, activating with a voice command in the natural way is way more easy and as long as it does the job done is good.

i can totally see the scenario:

User Press PTT → “Activate Handsfree” or something like this “Activate Listen Mode”

Anywhere in my home, when I say “Hey Google” and then a question, I get detailed answers, no button press or other device required. Where does the r1 exceed in this very old smartphone answering capability?

I wouldn’t mind it only working plugged in. Or having a setting that makes it only listen when it is plugged in.

if it consume a lot of battery, just let people activate/deactivate it by themself, but give them the option to do it!

If I recall correctly, this isn’t possible because of how the microphone is setup within the hardware — I believe reading this/this being communicated in the past? Either way, I wouldn’t use this feature if it existed. I think it would drain too much battery as mention, without much benefit.
