# Silent Response Mode

One of the most difficult aspects in voice interactions is that even though I can time my requests perfectly (i.e. I can ask a question when things are quiet at a restaurant), the response is a little unpredictable (i.e. it could take a few seconds for it to start and the answer could be long). My current solution is to turn off the volume so that I can read the answer, but it would be great if this were just a mode. Not a big deal, but I think it would be a nice quality of life addition.

this is a great suggestion – i’m very conscious when using this outside without headphones – i’ve realized that the `terminal` works well in these situations.
