# Settings: ability to turn off GPS / location

Hi,
Suggesting to add a setting to enable users to turn off location, be it to preserve battery or out of privacy preferences.

Agree totally about the battery… if you are using a device connected to a network, your location is not private, nor is it anonymous.

Hi,
Yeah of course, but Ip / wifi based is one thing, precise gps location based is another.
There’s always some location-ability going on, but personally I don’t need nor want the GPS precise location or rabbit to access / use that data when it’s of no use to me.
If I have a question about a place I just specify what place I’m asking about.
The battery life aspect is perhaps more universally ‘valid’ indeed considering the tiny battery. I would assume location services impact it but it depends on software too
A toggle is a very basic thing to have that every other android device ever seems to have so it’s a puzzling omission to me 🙂
