# OS3 is here đ
[@everyone](https://forum.rabbitcommunity.tech/groups/everyone) â OS3 is rabbitâs agentic assistant operating system: tell it the outcome you want, and it works out how to get there across models, tools, devices and the web.
after months of testing, feedback, bugs, fixes and a lot of help from this community, OS3 is officially live for everyone.
# first things first: go watch the OS3 launch video above!
tell it what you want to make, find, understand or finish. OS3 works out the steps and gets to work.
the computer stops being something you operate. it becomes something you direct.
install the rabbit agent on Windows, Mac or Linux and OS3 can work with your local files and browser, write and run code, and use DLAM when it needs to interact visually with an interface.
connect up to five devices and OS3 can decide where a task should run â on one machine, or across several.
**OS3 is now live on your r1**
once youâve onboarded through os3.rabbit.tech on desktop, queries from your r1 route through OS3 too, using the same identity and context you have on the web.
OS3 also has your rabbithole data, so the history and information youâve already built up with rabbit comes with you. the previous rabbithole and rabbit intern as a standalone product have now been retired.
OS3 is built around one continuous conversation rather than disconnected chat threads, with shared context across web, Telegram and r1.
you can also text OS3 through SMS or iMessage. pair your phone in settings â phone messages by scanning the QR code and verifying your number, then send it tasks wherever you are.
itâs BYOK, so you can choose supported models and switch without losing your OS3 memory, context or skills.
and skills are open too. find a compatible skill elsewhere in the agent ecosystem, paste its URL into OS3, and it can install and use it.
the rabbit agent runs locally, and your computerâs files arenât stored in rabbitâs cloud. relevant content is processed through rabbit and your chosen model provider; conversations and memory are stored by rabbit. OS3 acts on your instructions, and sensitive actions require confirmation.

How to use the previous features on rabbit hole / intern without registering a model ? In OS3 starting process, Iâm stuck on the step âi run on your own AI provider account. your key, your choice of model, + the usage bills to you.â and thatâs really annoying.
I donât want to pay for an API or run a model locally 24 hours a day just to reach my journal.

Will there be a client for Linux as well? Or only the web version? Does the web version have access to local files?

I believe there is a difference between the interaction with OS3, using the browser / desktop app or R1 (aka channels) and access to computers (aka rabbit agents).
If you want to use it on your linux PC and access the local resources, youâd need to log in on a local browser and add the Linux PC as a Rabbit Agent in the settings.

I gave this a spin. Itâs really cool that you can add multiple PCs that the agent can use.
I hooked it up with OpenRouter and found (as expected) that it drains through tokens really fast. This is probably why OpenClaw and Hermes have the option to use a Codex or Claude account using oauth. As it works now via an API key, this is 5-10 times more expensive than using OpenClaw running on Codex đ
Iâm not sure it is actually possible to use the oauth route given the current web based architecture though.
Just wondering; does this mean you can no longer use the AI on the Rabbit R1 without paying as you go?
