Native languages

Exactly, everyone thought it was an easily implementable function given the potential of artificial intelligence and given what open ai has done. But looking at the facts I realize that this is not the case.

I believe working on a more stable experience overall is more important. But I agree language support is also very important.

In my point of view the development team should release a timetable, which milestones will be developed.

I think no one need an exactly timestamp, but the month should be mentioned.

We have so many ideas here and a good community, which helps a lot the development team and all users with support.

So it should be the time to give (us) more transparency back for the rabbit r1 development.

I created a new suggestion here for a release of a milestones plan:

> Development milestone-plan for more transparency

Would be great, if you can support this.:slightly_smiling_face:

I think you’re slightly over analysing this

That’s a perfectly polite reply from our team, but it’s not the support team’s remit to be able to give more info than that, and they don’t always have that info. They’re dealing with hundreds of comments every day across social media platforms.

I’m looped in and work closely with product, so unless Jesse decides to weigh in on something, it’s usually going to be me that can give you the most up to date info and context on any given project, and please remember that projects and priorities can and do change all the time. I’m trying my best to stay on top of all of that.

The latest info I have is that Jesse asked the Product team to scope it out meaningfully, and only when that scoping work is completed can we truly start to understand the timeframe, even roughly.

And I’m very happy about this, because I have been banging the drum for a while on this, I have fed back the data from the votes, from this thread, from everywhere this is being discussed, and I have been very vocal about it. Beyond that, it sits with Product.

I’ve asked it again and they’ve answered:

Additional language support has been scoped by our team and yes we are working on it. but I don’t have an exact ETA to provide as there are more priority tasks our team is focused on at the moment like teach mode. Once we have more update on progress of language support we will be happy to share with the community!

Thank you for this update, @ostiaalex. :+1:
The language packages is an important feature, I agree and support this.

At the moment for the development team is a prioritization helpful and the right tool for focusing on the highlighted feature ‘teach-mode’. After that the language packages should be prioritized. :slightly_smiling_face:

Does anyone know if there is any new information about language support?

The only info I have at the moment is that the team are scoping what would be required in order to support more languages. I’ll update this thread as and when I learn anything new.

You are paying the team salaries to make only native English users happy with the money of those who speak all the other languages who are not using the device in the meantime.

I’ve asked today and the answer is:

I am sorry but I don’t have any new update for language support since the last time. we understand the value and need for other language support but currently our team’s main focus and resources are on LAM playground and teach mode, so we don’t have an exact ETA on language support at the moment.

AS LAM and Teach mode are now nearly done when they will be fully working, the language support must be a priority (or one of them :grinning: )
