Hey

Why is it showing the whether forecast in Fahrenheit und Not in Celsius. I have asked yesterday the r1 to use metric system but still it is using the wrong
one. Have not seen any setting to change it manually.

Ask for Celsius in the prompt, ie “Can you tell me the weather in Celsius” and that should work.

We’ll get this added either as a setting or as long term memory preference.

Yes yes this is working, it’s just s bit odd to mention it every time. Hope with long-term memory this will be fixed.

Yes, it would be nice to verbally add preferences like the units such as meters and centigrade. Maybe like “always answer in metric units”.
Of course one should be verbally ask rabbit to list it’s preferences.

Would make sense to set it once and then let it apply to everything. Or you could also change per location eg in Europe where we work with Celcius it makes sense to tell the weather in the local value.

Celsius should be standard and ask for fahrenheit instead.

I have to ask for the temperature in the city that a UEFA match is in Celsius. If i don’t mention Celsius it gives Fahrenheit. I then just say Celsius and r1 will correct itself. The r1 should know that i am in Canada where metric has been in use for 55+ years. Wake up America.

I have been trying the longer term prompt “Can you only tell me temperature in celcius and distances in the metric system” and it does work for sometime, but eventually disappears.

It DEFINTIELY disappears when you do a 5xptt push.

While I understand everyone’s annoyance that generally speaking celcius is the most commonly used system - the device is designed in America and likely has majority American consumers (at the moment), it shouldn’t be surprising that its using imperial and fahrenheit?

Fahrenheit, why is this stone age metric still used and especially in a modern tool like the r1? 🤣

Fix this issue and allow Celsius. And everytime I ask the r1 to change it to Celcius, it says something “Ok we changed timezone to default”. What does time have to do with temperature?

It could be solved by using local settings, but those must be customized. Imagine if you have your time zone set automatically, and your local settings change from C to F, or the currency changes, or anything else. Or someone is a programmer and uses a dot instead of a coma enforced by regional settings.

This one has me driven crazy. It repeatedly gives me weather in F, and when I remind it that it assured me it would remember to provide in Celsius, the LLM apologises profusely and re-asserts that it will remember from now on. Then it forgets the next day and we’re back to square one. So whatever context is being set, it is being lost. I would be useful to be able to add a ‘memory’ pre-prompt as per ChatGPT.

@realcodfish
Hi Andy,

Default measurement & weather units

Your default measurement and weather units are currently linked to your chosen language/region. E.g., if your region is set to English (United States) temperature will show in Fahrenheit, but if set to English (United Kingdom) temperature will show in Celsius.

For Celsius and Metric, select English (Australia).

For Celsius and Imperial, select English (UK).
Note: UK uses both imperial and metric measurements. The younger generation born after 1970 would use metric or both. Those born in the 80s and later would use metric.

For Fahrenheit and Imperial, select English (USA).

PS: Don’t forget to perform a Memory refresh after changing the language/region setting (quickly press the [ptt]-button 5 times).

**Note about the default measurement units** : The current way that temperature and measurement units have been implemented was not one of their best design decisions. The rabbit team realizes that and is now aligned with a better way to implement this.

Maybe a small update on this issue telling my R1 to store the usage of Celsius (or metric allthesame) doesn’t work either. It says it has stored it in the memory but it keeps giving Farenheit if I don’t ask for Celsius specifically

Have you checked in the rabbit hole if you can find this preference in the memory section under “User”?

it works fine for me, even if I ask for temperatures in the US.
